Smartphone cameras are usually pretty good and all that is required to turn them into a simple pocket-microscope is something to hold a cheap extra lens over it. The screw-part is a simple focus. This is not strictly required but allows to take more stable photos.

Note that the design is customisable so you can just measure the dimensions of whatever phone you are using, enter that into the thingiverse customiser option (there is a button) and generate a PhoneScope chassis that will fit your phone.
